Week 10; A Poem a Day

3/8/16

Everything
Has been said
Every word
Has been written
At least once
Still I try
Hoping
There is redemption
In repetition

The same water
Has been on this planet
For billions of years
Rising
Falling
Freezing
Thawing
Spreading apart
Before reuniting
Over and over and under
The same water
The same story
But it still gives life
It still courses
Through my arteries
Still fills my capillaries
I still need it
To pass through
Every chamber
Every cell

Nothing
Has not been said
No word
Has not been written
Yet I try
Hoping
There is remedy
In remembering

3/11/16

So many questions.
Do we ever find
Satisfactory answers?
Or do we find
Happiness living between
Question and answer?
There above the dot
But below the shepherd’s crook,
Which, you will note,
Faces the question still,
Not so eager to gather
The answers that
May come after;
Asking us to linger
On what really
Perplexes us?
